We would like to provide you with an update on reopening schools in September. We have been planning for different scenarios (in-person, remote and hybrid) and purchasing additional resources such as personal protective equipment, thermometers, and cleaning supplies. To date, we have not received final guidance on reopening from New York State.

Governor Cuomo announced that this guidance will be released to schools on July 13. Individual school district reopening plans will be due to the state by July 31 and the Governor will make a decision on reopening during the week of August 1 to August 7.

As you can imagine, we have a lot of work to finalize a reopening plan that ensures the safety of our students and staff. We ask for your patience as we work through this process and await future decisions at a state level. In the coming weeks, we will be engaging parents and students via Return to School surveys to assist us in developing reopening plans. As we develop the plans for submission to New York State, our priorities will be the health and safety of all students and staff and the academic and social emotional needs of our students.
