Parents, guardians and community members,

Hoosick Falls CSD has been informed of an elementary staff member testing positive for COVID-19. Contact with this staff member did not impact any students in the building, but did require all students, the driver and the staff member on a bus run to be quarantined. Unfortunately, the trend of positive cases in the Hoosick Falls community has continued to rise at an alarming rate. A significant number of people are now required to quarantine, which in turn is having a detrimental impact on the school district.

We are monitoring the situation in the community very closely. So far, we have been able to navigate the obstacles presented to us, but this may not continue for much longer. Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff is the first priority. If the number of positive cases in the community continues to rise, there is a distinct possibility the district may need to pivot to fully remote learning. We will keep you informed of any changes that may take place as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
