HFCS WILL BE OPEN 10/13/2020

Hoosick Falls CSD will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13 for all Group A students UPK-12. The hot water leak in the Elementary Library has been stopped, but the damaged pipes are not yet fully repaired. Both power and internet have also been fully restored in the building.

The break has resulted in one heating zone being shut down while the piping is rerouted. This zone includes what we call the 1/2 Hallway and the 5/6 Hallway, including all classrooms in grades 1, 2, 5 and 6, plus two 4th grade classrooms (Ms. Donohue and Mrs. Nash). After visiting the building today, the rooms in those hallways held the heat well. We are asking that students in those classrooms dress warmly as the temperatures are similar to today, but with rain. If you do not feel comfortable sending your child into one of these classrooms tomorrow, please contact the Elementary Office. Your child will pivot to remote learning for the day.

ORIGINAL POST 10/11/2020

On Friday, a heating pipe burst in the Hoosick Falls Elementary Library. This pipe heats half of the elementary building. Crews have been working to repair the break for the past two days. We are planning for all students to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday. A final decision on bringing elementary students back to the building will be made tomorrow afternoon (Monday 10/12), once we know the repairs are successful. More information will be posted tomorrow. Thank you.
