LETTER TO SENIORS & THEIR FAMILIES FROM MR. HALL, JR. / SR. HIGH PRINCIPAL:
With the COVID-19 restrictions we have had to modify our graduation plans. I invited all seniors
to a Google Meet on Monday May 18th. The video from that meeting is on the district website.
Here are the details from that meeting.
We will have a diploma distribution the final week of June 24-26 depending on the weather. The
date will be finalized the week before once we have an idea of the forecast. Seniors and their family
can drive into the parking lot and collect their diploma. We will have an area decorated for photos.
We are planning on coordinating a senior parade after the diploma distribution with the parents
who have expressed an interest. The diploma/photo portion at the school would be from 11-3.
Then that evening, we would like to have a senior parade through town starting sometime between
6 or 7pm. We are also looking to potentially have fireworks later that evening for the seniors.
We have started planning for a graduation video, which will have the traditional speeches, images
from the diploma distribution, parade, etc… We would distribute that over the summer once it is
We are asking parents to be involved with the video. We would love to include family photos of the
seniors, or even a message to the senior from family members. Each senior would have a portion
of the video designated specifically for them. Please stay tuned for more information on this.
We would like to plan a more traditional graduation celebration for the seniors at the school in
December. The format of this has not been finalized and we would work with the seniors to make
this what they would like.
We know it is not perfect, but it is the safest and most realistic way to honor the class of 2020 at
this time. We know many people are set on a large in-person ceremony. At this time, the district does not feel that it can safely facilitate a function like this.
Please direct all questions to the building principal at firstname.lastname@example.org or 518-686-7321
Stay strong and be well! We will get through this together! Go PANTHERS!!!
