Hoosick Falls girls soccer coach Tom Husser won his 288th career game on Saturday in the New York State Girls Soccer Hall of Fame tournament at Stillwater High School, a 2-1 victory over Section V’s Arkport-Canaseraga.

That was only the beginning of a big weekend for Husser, 67, who was inducted into the sixth class of the New York State Girls Soccer Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Husser, who sports a career record of 288-82-14, is a three-time state championship-winning coach, scoring titles in 2005 and then back-to-back in 2011 and 2012. He led the 2007 team to the state final as well.

In 19 seasons at the helm, Husser reached the sectional final nine times, winning six Section II titles. He has been named New York state coach of the year twice in Class C.

Assistant coaches Maurica Manning and Meg McKee and JV coach Alyssa Houghton all played for Husser.

Before coming to Hoosick Falls, Husser and his wife, Angela, ran the Bennington youth program for more than a decade. They also owned Bennington Sports and Graphics on Main Street in Bennington, selling the business in 2020.
