NHS officers present teacher of the year award

Below is the speech: 

    The National Honor Society is given the privilege to elect the teacher of the year award for acknowledging one teacher’s hard work and dedication. This award is given to one teacher who demonstrates character, service, leadership, and scholarship. This teacher does not only complete their job exceptionally, but also takes the initiative to go above and beyond for the benefit of the school community. The National Honors Society looks for an educator who creates relationships with other faculty members and more importantly, their students. Furthermore, this teacher creates an environment within their classroom that allows students to thrive and be creative. This educator greatly impacts their students and acts as a role model. 

        On behalf of the National Honor Society, we would like to announce that this year's teacher of the year, Mrs. Nelson. Mrs. Nelson has contributed greatly to our school community and we would like to congratulate her on being selected as teacher of the year. 

        Mrs. Nelson has been the class of 2024 advisor and has spent countless hours planning senior ball, junior prom, and ensuring all fundraisers run smoothly. Mrs. Nelson has also been there for us for every school spirit week and hallway decorating contest.  Mrs. Nelson has taught both geometry and statistics to many students. She has created a fun and exciting class setting that engages the students. She has helped many students not only learn, but most importantly to enjoy math.

        Mrs. Nelson’s dedication to her students regarding both their lives in and outside of school does not go unnoticed. She has been there for countless students and continues to touch the lives of those around her by always having a smile on her face. We would like to thank her for everything she has done and continues to do for our school.
