The HFCS/Tamarac Indoor Track Team recently attended the Beantown Winter Classic in Boston, MA, at the world-famous TRACK at New Balance. The Beantown Winter Classic is a two-day invitational-style, high school track meet. Athletes in grades 9-12, from multiple states and over 140 schools competed for national qualifiers. Track Coach and HFCS Teacher, Linda Webber stated “The Beantown Classic was an amazing opportunity for all of the athletes who attended, having the chance to run at one of the best facilities in the world. Many of our athletes had their lifetime-best performances there, and many school records occurred.”
It was a very successful trip for the team with several individuals and relays hitting qualifying times and distances for the State Qualifier Meet and breaking several combined team records. The team consists of 44 HFCS students and 31 students from Tamarac. Congratulations to these dedicated athletes!

Gabriel Gearwar Jr. won the Freshman 55m Hurdles, and 5th in Freshman Long jump.

Teresa Kane was 5th in Novice 600m
Lilliana Zwinge was 3rd in the Freshman 55m Hurdles
Caleigh Quackenbush took 6th in the Sophomore 55m Hurdles
Freshman Girls 4x200m(Teresa Kane, Navi Fitz, Madison Nadeau, Madelyn Gallese) took 3rd
Ruth Econome was 5th in the Frosh High Jump
Naviana Fitz was 6th in the Frosh High Jump
Caroline Murphy took 2nd in the Varsity High Jump
Madelyn Gallese was 3rd in the Freshman Long Jump
Jen (Zac) Degeorge was 5th in the Frosh Shot Put
