HFCS Students Performed at the Albany Pro Musica High School Choral Festival and RCSMA All-County Festival! Ten Hoosick Falls Central School students from the Senior Chorus (Lillian Murphy, Ethan McMahon, Mea Cleary, Shane Hatlee, Kaitlyn Baker, Frances Gardner, Mya Wiggins, Jack Mallory, Grady Rowlands, and Abigail Weeden) performed a program of exceptional music at the Albany Pro Music Choral Festival on 2/1/25, at the Troy Music Hall. This was a powerful showing for students from Hoosick Falls since the 90-strong chorus comprised students from 20 schools around the Capital Region. This 12-hour day culminated with a very well-received performance featuring students and adult members of Albany Pro Musica. Hoosick Falls shone with Mea Cleary being selected as one of the soloists after a rigorous audition among several singers. Two of our students, Lillian Murphy and Ethan McMahon, were successful in their auditions to sing with an elite Honor Choir comprising 24 students. They will both participate in a week-long sponsored International Festival hosted by Albany Pro Musica this summer. On 1/30/24, Performing Arts students participated in the RCSMA All-County Festival at Lansingburgh Central School. Following a Thursday evening rehearsal, the students again rehearsed Saturday morning and performed in a very successful afternoon performance. In the grades 7-9 All County Junior Chorus, the following students from Dr. Yudkoff’s choral program performed: Evelyn Valla, Abigail Nowicki, Gretta Rowlands, Brennon Maddex, Bret Giglio, Mason Amodeo-Duket, and Rachel Pilot. The 10th-12th grade Senior Band featured the following students from Mr. Allen’s Symphonic Band: Joshua Allen (Trumpet), Gracie Hastings (Clarinet), Karalina Hastings (Clarinet, section leader), Terry Kuebler (Alto Sax), Alex Paulson (Tuba, section leader), and Wyatt Hall (Percussion).
