HFHS Junior, Isabella Marpe, is in her 1st year of culinary studies at Southwest Tech (SWT) in Bennington, VT. Every school day, she travels to SWT and spends a half-day preparing for a future in the food service industry. She receives both college and high school credits in this program. Isabella was part of a 4-person team (2 students from MAUHS and 1 from BBA) to compete in the 2025 New York State Restaurant Association ProStart Invitational at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. Her team competed in the “Management” category and took 1st place in VT! The team had to pitch a restaurant/food service business to judges and discuss the following categories: concept, menu and costing, marketing, operations and layout, and additional critical thinking categories about the business pitch. The team will be attending Nationals in Baltimore, MD, May 2nd-5th. Isabella loves baking and pastry arts, and one of her favorite dishes to prepare is crème brûlée. Congratulations, Bella!
