HFCS has had two instrumental students selected for Area All-State this year! Alex Paulson (Senior, Tuba) and Karalina Hastings (Junior, Clarinet) will be representing HFCS in the Area All-State Band, which is made up of band students with the highest scores on their level 5 & 6 NYSSMA Solo throughout the 9 counties of Zone 7. They are the first HFCS instrumental students selected for Area All-State since 2019, and are among the fewer than 15 students chosen over the past 20 years. Their accomplishment is even more impressive considering how competitive the Area All-State instrumental ensembles are: between the band and the symphony orchestra, there are only about 15-20 clarinet spots and 5-6 tuba spots available. Go Panthers!

That rumor is false. No weapon was involved in this incident.
